I’m Britt Griffith—racer, organizer, father of three, and proof that age doesn’t improve judgment. I started at 54. Some guys buy a Corvette. I chose open-wheel racing with no roll cage, no seat belt, and a machine designed to improve curb appeal. Based in Orange, California, I race the Timcast.com and HouseOfSwim.com mowers and help promote the SoCal Mower Racing Club. I recruit drivers, work with sponsors, film races, and occasionally shut up long enough to race. After seven seasons on Ghost Hunters, I traded haunted buildings for dirt tracks. I still ask, “Did you hear that?” Only now the answer usually costs money. I run Griffith Brothers Property Maintenance: fix things all week, race them until they break on weekends. The people make this sport. We’ll lend you a tool, help get your mower running, then do everything we can to beat you into turn one. That’s friendship with a helmet on. Come find us at the track. Stick around long enough and we’ll have you explaining a mower purchase to your spouse. I just want to go fast. The lawn can wait.

Timcast.com — Super Modified Purpose-built racing mower with a square-tube chassis and a horizontal-shaft Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine fully built by Kiwi Motors. 38ci Vanguard V twin with ARC rods, ch250 Honda pistons, precision 356 billet cam, 38 heads milled 30 thousand, copper head gaskets, oversized stainless valves, beehive single springs, titanium retainer & keepers, Cromwell 2 stage carburetor and ARC billet flywheel. HouseOfSwim.com — Modified Built to the club’s Modified-class rules with a stock 22-horsepower, horizontal-shaft Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine and stock turf tires. We run 110 race fuel, although the stock engine can run on 89-octane fuel. One of the most comfortable racing mowers I’ve ever driven.
