Kenny Pfitzer has spent decades making cars look fast. Now he’s proving a lawnmower can actually be fast—and significantly more entertaining than yardwork. Based in Corona, California, the founder of Kenny Pfitzer Designs brings serious automotive credentials to the SoCal Mower Racing Club. His career includes Metal Crafters, West Coast Customs, and working alongside Chip Foose, with projects ranging from concept vehicles to custom show cars. His passion started in his dad’s garage, restoring Volkswagens long before television cameras entered the picture. Behind the wheel of a Super Modified mower, Kenny wasted no time mixing it up. In his first full feature at Wheel2Wheel in March 2026, he challenged the front-runners before a final-lap spin left him fifth. He has since added several podium finish to his racing résumé. He’s also the guy who will help fix your mower in the pits, then try to beat you once the green flag drops. Just ask drive Britt Griffith. Custom-car craftsmanship, a racer’s competitive streak, and a willingness to get dirty—Kenny fits right in. The grass, however, remains uncut.

Kenny races a Super Modified lawnmower built on a custom KPD chassis designed and fabricated by Kenny Pfitzer Designs. Developed through months of testing, the chassis is paired with a Kiwi Motors-built 38-cubic-inch Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-twin. The running gear includes Burris Racing tires, CP brakes with an 8-inch rotor, billet pedals, and a billet chain tensioner. A 1¼-inch rear axle and jackshaft run in cassette bearings, using #35 primary and #40 secondary chains. Composite bodywork forms the hood and rear fenders, with gearing set up for Southern California’s short tracks. The mower brings Kenny’s automotive design and fabrication experience directly onto the track, with support from KPD, Monster Energy, and Kiwi Motors.
