Luke Papps
# 16Super Modified
Romona CA · Racing since 2008
Luke Papps keeps private jets and helicopters flying by day and gives fellow racers something to chase on race night. An aviation mechanic with a competitive streak, Luke has been racing lawnmowers since 2008 and is one of the SoCal Mower Racing Club’s most successful drivers. If his mower holds together, expect to find him at the front of the pack. With years of experience and a habit of making fast look easy, Luke is a threat whenever he rolls onto the track. For everyone chasing him, a mechanical breakdown sometimes feels like their best strategy. His competitive drive follows him off the dirt, too. Luke travels around the country competing in dart tournaments, with appearances including the 2025 ADO 501 National Championship. Whether he’s aiming for the bullseye or the checkered flag, he comes to compete. Around the pits, Luke is known for hilariously dry humor and perfectly timed observations. His delivery is deadpan, his timing is sharp, and the punchline may reach you a second after he’s walked away. Jets, helicopters, darts, and racing mowers—Luke knows his way around things that fly. Occasionally, that includes a comment you weren’t ready for.
